What We Are Looking For
Are you a licensed Journeyman Plumber who can identify a pipe by sound, smell, or the panicked expression of a homeowner?
Do you know your way around a water heater, a sewer line, and a customer who insists, “It was working perfectly five minutes ago”?
If so, Company [blocked]
We’re looking for a talented, reliable Journeyman Plumber to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems while preventing minor drips from becoming major indoor waterfalls. You’ll need technical expertise, a strong work ethic, and the ability to crawl into spaces that were clearly designed by someone who hates plumbers.
What You’ll Do
· Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and equipment
· Diagnose leaks, clogs, low water pressure, mysterious noises, and other plumbing crimes
· Perform rough-in, trim-out, service, and remodeling work
· Install and service water heaters, pumps, valves, drains, and sewer systems
· Follow plumbing codes and safety standards—because “I saw it on YouTube” is not an approved method
· Explain plumbing problems to customers without using enough technical jargon to make their eyes glaze over
· Keep your work area clean, even though plumbing naturally tries to make everything wet and disgusting
· Guide apprentices toward becoming skilled plumbers instead of people who own one wrench and a dream
What You Bring
· A valid journeyman plumber license or certification, as required in South Dakota
· 1-3 years of professional plumbing experience
· Excellent knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, materials, and codes
· A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
· The ability to lift equipment and work in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and other areas where your back may request a meeting with management
· Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
· A professional attitude and a sense of humor
· The ability to remain calm when someone says, “While you’re here, could you also look at this one thing?”
Extra Credit If You
· Have residential plumbing experience
· Know how to repair a problem without creating three exciting new ones
· Have backflow, gas piping, medical gas, or hydronic heating certifications
· Can use mobile work-order software without declaring war on the tablet
· Have experience dealing with emergency calls, difficult access points, and toilets that have clearly seen things
· Understand that “quick and easy” are words customers use, not job descriptions
What We Offer
· Competitive pay
· Paid Health Insurance and we also offer dental, and vision insurance
· Paid time off and holidays
· Retirement plan with [company match, if applicable]
· Paid training and professional development
· Company vehicle and tools, if applicable
· Opportunities for advancement
· A supportive team that appreciates your skills and respects your knees
· The satisfaction of turning “Oh no” into “No problem”
Mr. Rooter of Sioux Falls is an equal opportunity employer. We’re looking for qualified plumbers of all backgrounds—provided they can handle a wrench, solve a problem, and resist the urge to say, “That’s not my pipe.”
